You have given us blessings

I invite you to read the Bible, and to study the many things therein.  After all, He has preserved it for us for all these years, and tells us He wants us to be with Him after this life is over.  He and the Son have demonstrated that so very well.  A love beyond our feeble minds and thinking, but a love that extends even today to every living soul.  A greatness even beyond our many earthly accomplishments .

A very interesting passage is found near the end of Paul's letter to the Philippians. That passage is chapter 4 from verse 4 through verse 9.  It begins with these words,  "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say , rejoice! (verse 4)

Then beginning in verse 6, "Be anxious for nothings, but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (verses 6,7)

Finally, in verse 8, ""Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever s of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything, worthy of praise, LET YOUR MIND DWELL ON THESE THINGS. "

I think you would agree this is a very impressive list; one that greatly disagrees with the ways of the world around us.  But, as Christians, we are to be sanctified (set apart) from the world.  When Paul said, "let your mind dwell on these things" I think he was well aware of those things which distract and hinder us from fulfilling this command from the Lord.  Even in his life there were many things which stood in the way of his work.  The book to the Philippians was one of those he wrote while in prison, but he was able to overcome the difficulties that caused.  And as you read his words it's easy to see Paul was able to not only overcome, but put aside the cares and influences around him.  What a good lesson for us, and during this month many are celebrating a day called  Thanksgiving, let us center our minds on the life He has given us, and the many blessings that has brought.  We live in a special place called America, with many freedoms only found in this country.  The greatest gift He has given any of us is that of salvation and a place with His Son Jesus Christ. And the promise of eternal life for the faithful. Never take that lightly, and always join me in saying, "Thank you Father, for all you have done and continue doing for your people.  You have given us blessings without measure, we are so thankful to you our Father. .
