All Tears Wiped Away

All Tears Wiped Away

And He will wipe away every tear from their eye; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold. I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:4-5)

I do not know how you feel about your life right now but for me my walk on this side of eternity has been, and really still is, a grand, exciting and adventurous one. Sometimes it seems as if the storms that rage around me are so overwhelming it makes the pathway difficult to walk. As I sit here writing this message, it occurs to me that for various reasons it has sometimes been a trail of tears that have made this journey a troublesome one (2 Cor. 5:2). Knowing that the day is coming when everything that causes a tear to flow unbidden from my eyes will be gone forever fills my heart with praise and thanksgiving to the one who will wipe away every tear from my eyes. I venture to say that many who now read these words will entertain the same thoughts about their life.

Aren’t you thankful that our God sees and knows about the troubles and trials that so often surround us in this life; thankfully, he knows when our heart is so burdened that it is difficult for us to find our way. He knows and because he knows and cares for us, he can and will lift us to a higher plane when we submit ourselves to him (Heb. 4:13-16, 1 Peter 5:6-7, Psalms 34:15, 17-18).

Today, an unspeakable joy should fill our hearts, knowing that there is coming a day in which all things will be made new; a day in which all the burdens, troubles and misery of this life will be gone forever. Come what may in this life, we should ever be building our hope on things eternal, diligently walking this pathway hand in hand with our God—heaven will surely be worth it all.As we continue our walk down the pathway of life with our eyes fixed on Jesus, reaching forward to what lies ahead, we need to spend much time in prayer asking God to bless us with the measure of courage, strength, comfort and peace that will enable us to grow stronger in our faith so as to enable us to overcome all obstacles that might overwhelm us causing our faith to falter. (Heb. 12:1-2, Phil. 3:13-14, Phil, 4:6-7, Heb. 4:16) Eph. 6:18, 1 Thess. 5:17)

Through prayer, sacrifice and abounding in the work of the Lord, all the trials and heartaches we experience in this earthly sojourn will one day turn into joy and happiness beyond anything we can comprehend today (1 Thess. 5:17, Rom. 12:1-2, 1 Cor. 15:58, Rev. 14:13).
