A Look At Hope

A Look At Hope

A word we often see in the Scriptures, and often use in our prayers , is the word HOPE.  Defined simply it is confident expectation. We are aware of many promises God has given and keeps for us, now and for the future.  The Apostle Peter speaks of this HOPE as a LIVING HOPE. (1 Peter 1 :3).  He tells God's people just a few verses later to "fix their hope" completely on the grace brought by His Son, Jesus Christ. (verse 13).  This ought to give us great confidence and comfort as we live this short life on earth, looking forward to the promise of eternal life in heaven. (Colossians 1:3-5)

"We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all the saints; because OF THE HOPE LAID UP FOR YOU IN HEAVEN, of which you previously heard in the work of truth, the gospel,(Colossians 1:3-5)

"For in HOPE we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one also hope for what he sees? But if we HOPE for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. " (Romans 8:24-25)

Jesus came, accomplished all the Father asked of Him, died, was buried, and was raised to rule over His church, the Kingdom He established and died for.

The wonderful blessing, we have now, and can look forward to (hope) with Him in heaven is only possible because of the love and work our Lord did for us.

That "living hope" is ours and gives us great confidence by the life we live by faith while in this life. (Romans 3:21-24) Let us be thankful for this wonderful blessing we can think and meditate about every day.  Let us be motivated to 'STAY THE COURSE" . Only by way of God's love and the Lord's efforts to fulfill the Father's plan are we able to do this. Are you faithful to His teachings? May God have the glory now and forever.
